Hello, I'm Revelle, owner of the site and co-creator of Elioris! I've been text-based roleplaying since 2012 and was an admin on a large site for almost 4 years. The other admins there taught me a lot of great things about managing a site, and I hope to use what I've learned to make Elioris an amazing place to be.
I couldn't have done any of this without my fellow admin Merrow, she's truly amazing and I'm so glad to be running this site with her. We're really excited for it and have put in a ton of time to make sure it's an awesome place for everyone. I can't wait to meet and get to know all of you!
A little bit about me
My name was stolen by Amazon and now I'm in a constant state of never knowing if someone is talking to me or a machine when I'm out in public. That echo was the first thing to go when I moved in with my partner! I grew up in the Midwest and am currently in graduate school studying to become a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). The road to discovering what I wanted to do with my life felt long, but I'm really enjoying where I'm at right now.
I live in a house with my wonderful partner Casey, an 8-year-old Boxer named Minnie, a 3 year old Siberian Forest Cat named Brier, and a crazy 2-year-old GSD/Malinois/Husky/Border Collie mix named Hero he's insane and I love him. I spend time with them teaching agility with homemade equipment and love expanding their library of tricks. We don't plan on having any human kids, and I consider my pets full members of the family. We're planning to add a foster pup around January, so maybe by site launch I'll have another floof bouncing around the house! I'll talk about them all day, every day, and have a plethora of pictures so don't hesitate to ask!
I spend a large amount of my time playing League of Legends. I ranked to gold the last two seasons and want to push myself to plat this next year. We'll see how that goes! My game name is Revelle, please feel free to add me. I also play Valorant, Fall Guys, Phasmophobia, and many other games, and I'm always down to talk about them! I spend a lot of time on this site as well, and am constantly fiddling with designs and ideas.
Outside of that I like hanging with my fam, playing piano, and reading. My favorite music is anything instrumental, I love high fantasy books (looking at you, Brandon Sanderson), and if I could eat steak, potatoes, and dinner rolls for the rest of my life without losing out on necessary nutrients, I probably wouldn't. There's too much good food out there, but that is probably my favorite meal.
A little bit about Elioris
The idea for the world came about when I wanted a place for people to roleplay with the option of being an animal-like creature or a humanoid. It's definitely been a challenge trying to balance the world and rules around that, and I'm sure many changes will happen even after the site launches to better refine the functionality of the roleplay.
The name for the site was inspired by Merrow and my very loved characters from a previous site. Come to find out, "Eli" means "Ascended" and "Oris" means "Tree". That fun discovery was the inspiration for the site logo and creation story many inhabitants of Elioris believe in.
